Reconstruction of Medieval Vielle
Reconstruction of a medieval instrument in the violin family. Intended to explore the history of construction and development of the violin, this instrument likely serves as a middle step between older instruments and the modern style of violin.
This was the second part of my final capstone project, the fall semester was historical research into the development and construction of the violin, and the spring semester was reconstructing the instrument based on illustrations in The Cantigas de Santa Maria.
