Pie Safe Replacement Hinge

This pie safe in the Winterthur collection was missing half of the lower proper right hinge. This put significant stress on the door and the frame to which the hinge was attached. When a replacement hinge could not be found that properly matched, I took measurements of the original hinge and created a replacement from brass available in the metals lab. Only the exterior of the hinge was toned, in order to blend visually, while the interior was left untoned to clearly distinguish the replacement.
